In 2014, our founder Sonya Renee Taylor raised over $40,000 from over 700 backers in more than 30 countries to build The Body Is Not An Apology’s digital platform, partnering with Everyday Feminism and developing a Leadership Circle of 34 content writers across five countries. For the next four years, this brilliant global team built a digital magazine covering a wide scope of topics — from fatphobia to mental health, anti-Blackness to queer rights, disability to capitalism, and so much more — as they intersect with body terrorism and radical self-love.
As TBINAA shifted gears in early 2019 to work on new projects and possibilities, we wound down our writing team and transitioned our nearly 1,000 articles to become our digital Article Library. Today the Article Library serves our global community as a collection of free educational resources on all topics body justice-related.
Select from our dropdown menu for easy access to articles organized by theme (with the understanding that so much of our work is intersectional and multi-themed!), or use our handy search bar to look up content by topic.
We are grateful to our incredible global community that continues to read and share our content. Make sure to keep checking back for our newest educational offerings!
